35 weeks, 4 days...

Cannot believe it has been 10 weeks since my last post!

Everything is going so well........still cannot believe how lucky I am!

We have had another scan with our OB at 30 weeks, and a 4D scan at 31 weeks both of which reveal a healthily growing baby girl. The OB measured Ruby to way 1670g which is about 1.5 weeks ahead of schedule weight wise - he said she has been in good pastures!
The 4D scan was so amazing and I am so glad we had it done. Ruby is a gorgeous lil thing with her mummy's nose, cute lil full lips and a habit of having her left hand up in front of her face.
I could watch the DVD once a day and still be amazed by it!

For the OB scan at 30 weeks she was head up, but within less than a week she was head down for the 4D one and at every appointment so far she has stayed that way! She is such a good girl!

We have done our parenting classes weekend and learnt all we need to know about labour, how to wrap, bath and change a baby etc.

We had maternity photos done at 34 weeks - haven't got the photos yet but saw a few straight after she shot them and they look great.

I want to have as much as we can to remember this pregnancy as we have waited and worked so long and hard for this to happen and if it only happens once, I want to look back on it without any regrets of 'i wish we'd done this' etc.

The last couple of weeks my weight gaining has slowed. It was averaging about half a kilo a week for a fair while. Last week I did not gain any weight at all and when I questioned my OB about it he said that around 12kgs from 16 weeks to FT is a good range for me - I was at 10.5kgs so that doesn't seem to be a worry.

My platelets on the other hand do seem to be a bit of a worry. Over about a two month period they were 130 - 140 - 127 so OB ordered a full blood screen of all things plateletty and we get the results on Tuesday. All he has really said is that if they get too low which i think might be under 100 there is risk of bleeding during pregnancy and delivery as it makes the clotting of blood harder.

I finished work last Wednesday and since then have said goodbye to the back pain, and aching pelvis (unless I have a big morning shopping with my mum like i did yesterday.) If i can keep the activity fairly low and have my feet up a lot the pelvis pain is irrelevant (except for when I'm rolling around in bed at night.)

I have developed a hate of going to bed at night as although i love my sleep, I get aching hips and legs from sleeping on each side all night and by morning I'm in so much pain i cannot sleep on either side any more and have to sleep semi upright. My OB has confirmed that I cannot sleep on my back as it can cut off blood supply to the baby. I'd say at least once a night I wake up on my back and have a mini freak out for a minute.

I have a strange pain kind of in my chest underneath my right breast and on the top of my belly. It is kind of like a burning pain, and I can't pinpoint why/when exactly it is happening. I'm fairly confident it is not heartburn or indigestion. It seems less frequent when I'm not wearing a bra - so I've tried not to when I'm at home. It feels a lot better when I can stretch it out....I'm going to ask my acupuncturist and OB about it at the next visits.

Ruby is very active each day. As her head is down her body is running up the left side of my belly and her limbs stick out across to the right side. She will often have a big stretch and it feels like she is trying to evacuate out the right side - stretching it as far as it will go!
She is super clever with her kicks and rolls and moves - I still get a smile and giggle out of them every day.

Although I love being pregnant and know when I was dying for this day to come I said that 'when I fall pregnant I will never complain' I have done my fair share of whinging and am calling this the whinging end of the pregnancy.

Can't wait to meet my baby girl - anytime after 37 weeks! :)
